Last modified: 08 Jul 2005
Delirious? have been confirmed as the support band for two British concerts by US CCM megastar Michael W. Smith this October. The concerts will take place at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Saturday 8th October and at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday 9th October. Tickets for the London show are on sale now from
Ticketmaster and tickets for Belfast go on sale on 30th July.
Michael W. Smith is a phenomenon in the United States with eighteen albums and ten books under his belt and sales in the multi-millions. His brand of Christian country rock has brought him a huge following over there, but he is almost unknown in the UK mainstream despite a career spanning twenty years. He has even performed for US Presidents and national leaders.
"His integrity and passion are inspirational and it will be a joy for Delirious? to support Michael on our own turf", said Martin Smith.
"Delirious? is sparking a spiritual awakening among young and old alike" said Michael W. Smith.
"Best of all, they don't strike me as a band that's interested in watering down the gospel just to climb the pop charts or to get famous. Their number one priority is drawing the world back to God."
The Royal Albert Hall is one of Britain's most famous and prestigious concert venues. The 130 year old building is more commonly home to orchestral and classical music events, and hosts the annual Proms. With a seating capacity in excess of 5000 it is sure to be a monumental concert. Belfast's Odyssey Arena is one of Ireland's newest entertainment venues, hosting concerts, shows, sports events, exhibitions and conferences. It is also the largest indoor venue in Ireland, with a capacity of up to 8500 seats.
