As Europe is becoming football [soccer for you american cybernauts] crazy with the arrival of euro 2000 Delirious head for the continent to score some goals...
After such a great first leg in Berlin, Germany, where we played to about 20,000 rain drenched fans, we, the d: boys kicked off the second leg of our european tour with a fantistic gig at the Cheltenham race course, UK. The weather was kind and the fans were shining which made us feel like the stage was our home turf and it was great to be back. We followed the wildly energetic World Wide Message Tribe with a set that had a few of the old set pieces as well as a few new tricks. "Show me heaven" took the form of a Beckham free kick, and the play making "My glorious" held the crowd speechless and wishing the 29th of june was tomorrow...
The next leg was an away game in Lyon, France, over 16 hours drive away. So we jumped back on the bus, checked that we all had our passports and headed due south. We were greeted in Lyon by 4000 d:supporters whom new most of the words in both languages! This was our first time as a band in France, so to see so many people and so many people that knew the material was amazing. Martin must have found a new lease of life after being on the bus for so long. He gave a very energetic performance even stretching to a cart wheel during the ever anthemic "History Maker" which left the crowd roaring as if Owen had just placed the ball in the back of the net.
Then it was back on the bus for the return journey, but we were returning with smiles on our faces and the D: goal firmly in focus ready to finish what we have started.....
