It has always been this way; when it came to the buzz about Delirious?, it was nearly always at its loudest underground. Sure, they shared a stage with Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams and the His Excellency the Pope, but Delirious? were always one of those ‘best kept secrets’.

And so, with the release of their last ever project, the trend has continued. Farewell Show – the full length DVD and Blu-ray disc – is a beautifully shot, passionately delivered record of the band’s final few hours on a stage.

It is not surprising that Christian reviewers have jumped on Farewell Show as an instant classic – with Cross Rhythms getting all excited suggesting that: ‘A revolutionary, unique band like Delirious? with a career of almost two decades simply had to wrap up their amazing journey with a history making mountain-peak show like this one!’

Outside the Christian sphere Farewell Show has picked up an unlikely fan in Blu-Ray.com. Awarding it four out of five stars (actually they’re not stars but blue ‘B’s), the site praised the quality of the show, the edit and the Blu-Ray itself:

‘Delirious? serves up a filling last supper of concert fare on this well produced and extremely well recorded Blu-ray. Even if you’re not a big fan of Contemporary Christian music, chances are you’ll like at least some of Smith and Company’s musical stylings, if not their God-centric lyrics. Fans of the band are most certainly going to want this Blu-ray in their collection to help preserve the memory of one of the leaders of the Contemporary Christian movement in the UK and worldwide.’

Not bad, huh? Well, try these on for size:

JesusFreakHideout laid out four and a half stars out of five, praising what it saw as ‘truly an emotional experience,’ promising to ‘always remember who paved the way for our modern worship artists and we must pay our respects. Viva la Delirious. We’ll miss you guys.’

HollywoodJesus.com described it as ‘a great last page to their musical journey’ while Under The Radar got nicely excited: ‘In the Christian music world, this is hands down the best full-length live concert video I have ever seen… A+: in the Christian music industry, this DVD has set the bar as the new standard of excellence in live concert video.’

NewReleaseTuesday.com liked it too, praising the broad range of songs and suggesting that viewers ‘Have your tissues handy and bid ‘farewell’ to the most influential modern worship band in the history of Christian music.’

Lastly, you’ve got to love TheJointReview.com – providing reviews the way they really happen; as discussed by a whole bunch of friends. And since the four of them liked the DVD so much, we thought we’d reprint their ‘bottom line’:
KLAMPERT: Footage is sick! and the music is brilliant. What a great concert DVD Rating: 5 stars
BYRD: Just an unbelievable monument that testifies to how amazing this group of guys (and the women behind them) truly are. Mad sick energy, and raw intimate worship flows seamlessly that doesn’t feel like a DVD but an experience! Rating: 5 stars
MAHONEY: Seriously, one of the better concert videos I’ve ever watched . Rating: 5 stars
VANCE: Watching this DVD is reminding me of how great some of their songs actually are! Stellar! Rating: 5 stars

Shot in beautiful HD on the night of their farewell gig last November in London’s Hammersmith Apollo, the 146 minute film recreates all the passion and power of a Delirious? gig like never before. And after 17 years on the road, there was plenty to celebrate. Fancy taking a second peak?
