'Take Me Away' Update
Last modified: 19 Jul 2001

Artist: Delirious?
Label: Furious? Records
Date: 19 Jul 2001

Life in the d:camp is always full of twists and turns.

The plan on our new record 'Audio Lessonover?' was to release two singles. 'Waiting For The Summer' went in at no.26 and we again, are very thankful for all your support at getting it there. It turned out to be the busiest week in the whole of the year and so, the competition stuff, hence the lower chart position than normal.

The next move was to release 'Take Me Away' - a great song that we are all really excited about. But things haven't gone to plan as we expected this time which has caused us to re-think the plot. The radio door, as you all know, has been firmly shut again and as this seems to be the only vehicle at getting the music out to people, is quite frustrating for us when it's not happening.

You guys have been so good to us over the years in supporting the singles so we feel it appropriate on this occasion, to let you have it on a different format which is going to cost you absolutely nothing!

We didn't want everyone going through the anti-climax again of it charting in the 20's and then dropping out. It's always been a tension for us in knowing how much to play 'the game' and how much not to and on this occasion we're just going to do our own thing and make 'Take Me Away' exclusively available as a FREE MP3 download from our website. This means it won't be available from the shops, which also means it won't have a charting this time but as a gesture from us to you, we want you to have the song anyway! We are very excited about the album and know you're going to love it! So, watch out for the download on the 23 July and the new album 'Audio Lessonover?' which hits the high street shops on 6 August.

We're sorry if this has caused any confusion but we are definitely not 'backing down' - just playing the game in a different way.
