World Service 14 Date UK Tour
Last modified: 16 Jun 2004

Artist: Delirious?
Label: Furious? Records
Date: 16 Jun 2004

So it seems like a good time to tell you about something else we're excited about. It's our Autumn UK tour, and to put it simply, it's the biggest and best thing Delirious? have done at home since the band have been wearing long trousers. With 14 dates taking in over 25,000 people, the World Service Tour is the perfect follow-on to a day like the trip down to Alton Towers and other UK festivals dates planned this summer.

'There's a sense of new phase happening right now,' says Martin. 'It's as if there's a new season for us to minister through music and live concerts. Recent gigs have felt like being at church without a preacher up front. We were cautious five years ago, perhaps we were worried about offending people. It's as if permission has been given for it all to happen again.'

Stew agrees. 'We're not intimidated by venues or people. It's all much easier to let God do what He wants. If that feels uncomfortable, then fine. We're much more flexible to allow God to do more, so He does more.'

And if the band are expecting more from God, the fans can expect more from the band. As well as a massive 30' x 40' projection screen playing new videos, you'll also be in line for the biggest of all treats at the start of the show: the Rock n Roll Worship Circus. If you've not heard the band before then there's time to put it right, but you'd better act fast. Their blend of outrageously good tunes with outrageously God-focused attitude makes a live show something not to be missed. Here's what Stew has to say about them:

'Worship Circus are totally in the pocket with us, - we're both in the same place in terms of what we're trying to do, pushing the boat out and playing great music.'

So having last turned up the heat with a major UK tour in 2002 - on the celebrated Fire Tour - it's the ideal time to start getting excited about seeing the band up close and personal again.
