The date is getting closer for the global release of 'Touch', the international cousin of the UK's latest prize fighter, 'Audiolessonover?'. Look closely at the two and you'll easily see the family resemblance - Touch has nine of Audio's tracks - and both are tattooed with the same resolve, guts and sparkle.
What's worth mentioning are the differences. Touch takes nine tracks from Audio., remixing a couple along the way, juggles the track order around a little and tops it off with a re-worked, fully-nuked version of that Prince of B Sides, Touch. With those changes the album has a slightly pacier, harder edge than Audio.: changes which all agree make sense for the different markets. It's not at all uncommon for UK albums to receive a little tweak here and there before touching down in America, simply because of the huge differences between the two home audiences. In the case of Touch and Audio, those albums are both as strong as they can be for their target audiences: both sealed in with all that usual d:creativity, vulnerability and righteous wonder. And anyway, it'll give any of you collectors something to get you teeth stuck into, right?
