Delirious? Wraps Up U.S. Worship Revolution Tour Capped By Second GMA International Award
Last modified: 09 May 2007

Artist: Delirious?
Label: Sparrow Records
Date: 09 May 2007

The UK-based, globally relevant band Delirious? recently completed its 26 U.S. city Worship Revolution Tour with EMI /Forefront's Rebecca St. James and EMI-Sparrow Record's Vicky Beeching (also from the UK).

On the Worship Revolution Tour, Delirious? performed songs from its most recent, five-star rated DVD-CD, Now Is The Time: Live At Willow Creek. The recording has been compared in quality to productions by U2 and Coldplay and carries on the band's tradition of globally relevant music. In fact, Delirious? is considered to be the galvanizing force that changed the face of worship internationally, with "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever," "Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?," "Majesty" and more modern anthems that are sung in worship services around the world.

Well-known worldwide, Delirious? was honored last month by the Gospel Music Association with its second International Award presented at the 38th Annual Dove Awards ceremony held before a packed industry audience at the Grand Ole Opry House, April 25. The International Award honors a performer or organization from outside of the U.S. that has made an impact not just in his or her own country, but also on the world at large.

Known for its compelling live performance, 2006 went on record as the boldest year yet for the fivesome as the band traveled to 25 countries, including Asia, South America, Africa, Eastern Europe and Australia. Having played live for 13-years with the same band members intact, Delirious? has closed for the Pope in front of a million people in Germany, played for 1.2 million in India, toured with Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams and more.

In addition to its worldwide impact, sometimes the mission Delirious? shares also means tackling the difficult issues. In "Our God Reigns" featured on the new live recording, the band deals with the subject of social injustice, particularly A.I.D.S., abortion and the constant focus of Western culture on self-improvement and materialism. Traveling the globe to inspire music lovers world wide, Delirious? continues to carry on the tradition of spiritually challenging lyrics, while pointing people to see the wonders of what God has done for them.
