Last modified: 20 Mar 2008

Paul Evans To Be The New Delirious? Drummer Paul Evans is to be the new drummer in Delirious? when original band member Stew Smith leaves the band at the end of April 2008. Earlier this year Stew announced his plans to leave Delirious? after more than 12 years as their drummer. He plans to launch his own 'Creative Agency' and spend more time at home with his family.

Paul grew up in the church that the Delirious? band members attend and is currently a member of Soul Survivor Watford. In the past he has played drums for well known artists such as Matt Redman and Cathy Burton and has also worked as a drum teacher. He has been a session player since the age of 17 and has appeared on over 40 professional albums including a session with Ricky Ross from Deacon Blue. Paul is also no stranger to Delirious?, having toured the US with them in 2006 as a temporary stand-in for Stew.

Both Paul and Stew appear on the forthcoming debut mini-album by Al Gordon. Delirious? will play a special 'Testimonial Concert' to say farewell to Stew on 29th March at 'The Indigo2' in Greenwich, South-East London, which will be Stew's final UK performance with the band.
