Last modified: 11 Apr 2008
The biggest and most important night in the USA's Christian music industry, The Gospel Music Association's Dove Awards, takes place live at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on 23rd April. At last years event Delirious? were awarded the 'International Award' and whilst they are not nominated for any awards this year, lead singer Martin Smith will be making an appearance.
Delirious? will be on tour in Australia when the Dove Awards are taking place so Martin Smith, alongside Darlene Zschech, will appear via a live satellite video link up between Sydney and Nashville. Martin and Darlene will be introducing the first live performance of the song 'So Great', sung by Michael W. Smith and Israel Houghton at the Dove Awards.
'So Great' is one of the songs taken from the forthcoming 'Compassionart' album, written and recorded by some of the most well known names in Christian music for the charity that Martin Smith established. Compassionart aims to raise money for the relief of suffering around the planet. The album is expected to be released this Autumn, and the song 'So Great' is included on the 'WOW Hits 1' compilation CD released this month. The Dove Awards will be broadcast live nationwide in the USA on the Gospel Music Channel (8-10pm ET) and on XM Satellite Radio.
