Last modified: 20 Dec 2002
Delirious? brought a busy year to an end last night by performing their annual 'Christmas Show' at the Forum in London. Support acts Cathy Burton and Superhero warmed up the crowd before Delirious? came on stage to a 2000-strong audience. In between performing some of their most popular songs, Delirious? also used the opportunity to try out two new songs planned for their next album.
'Rain Down', based around the spontaneous part on the 'Access:d' album, is sure to be popular when it appear on the new album in 2003. The other new song, 'Everything Little Thing' featuring Martin on piano, is a stunning ballad with words of comfort. Other highlights during Delirious' 90 minutes on stage included the rarely performed 'Come Like You Promise', Stu G's blues version of 'Silent Night' and the obligatory Christmas track 'So This Is Christmas'.
A London pre-Christmas concert has become traditional for Delirious? over the past few years. The previous three years have seen the band perform at Shepherds Bush Empire shortly before Christmas, but this year the venue was unavailable so the location switched to The Forum in Kentish Town, London. After the Christmas break Delirious? will be entering the recording studio to start work on their next album.
