In At The Deep End: Paul Evans Joins Delirious?
Last modified: 12 May 2008

In At The Deep End: Paul Evans Joins Delirious? Paul Evans has now officially joined Delirious? as the bands new drummer. Stew Smith's final concert with Delirious? took place in Australia last month, and following his decision to leave the band to concentrate on starting his own design business, Paul has now taken over as drummer.

Paul and his new band mates spent several days last week in Martin's home studio rehearsing together ahead of his first concert at The Grand in Clitheroe, Lancashire on Friday (9th May). They even found time to go shopping for new suits together, ensuring all five of them had matching outfits for the show. The concert was heavily influenced by latest album Kingdom Of Comfort, including first plays of Love Will Find A Way and Wonder. Rather than easing in their new drummer, Delirious? have dropped 'Evans' in at the deep end, with a hectic first few months of touring.

Following Paul's first gig, the band played at the 'Ultimate Event' at Alton Towers (10th May) before immediately travelling to France to perform in Rouen the next day. With just a couple of days rest, Delirious? will then be on their travels again as they head to Kansas City in Missouri USA following by Montreal and Chiliwack in Canada. June sees little chance for a break either, with concerts in Slovakia, Scotland, Netherlands, California, Texas and Pennsylvania.
